Can you tell us a bit more about your professional background and what brought you to Serel?
I studied for five years at HELMo Gramme, where I earned my degree in industrial engineering. Those years allowed me to get to know myself better and think about my career path, even though I was still unsure because of the many opportunities available to me. I also took part in an Erasmus program in the Czech Republic, which strengthened my desire to travel and discover new cultures. After my studies, I completed a very enriching internship at Knauf Insulation in Visé, working in glass wool production. It was a well-rounded and valuable experience. I then started a career as a consultant, which allowed me to explore various industries, including at FN Herstal. However, I realized that I preferred being more hands-on in the field rather than sitting behind a desk. That’s what led me to join Serel.
What motivated you to take this role at Serel?
I was looking to return to production and be more directly involved on the shop floor and in continuous improvement. The industry is quite saturated, but through my network, I heard about the challenges Serel was offering, which aligned more closely with what I was looking for: greater involvement in the company and opportunities to travel, which helps break the routine. From there, everything fell into place naturally.
What are your main goals in taking on this role?
On a personal level, I want to find my place and thrive, to be someone my colleagues can rely on. For the company, I aim to contribute quickly and help relieve the team by being autonomous and active in continuous improvement, with the goal of helping the company grow.
How do your past experiences shape your approach?
My past experiences taught me that structures like Serel suit me better. I’ve developed a strong understanding of data and document management, and I’ve learned to be independent. These skills allow me to bring a fresh perspective to challenges and to prioritize what’s truly important.
Finally, tell us a bit more about yourself—what do you enjoy outside of work?
I’m someone who enjoys the simple things in life: good food, good drinks, and quality time with loved ones. I also enjoy running, cycling, taking advantage of nice weather, cooking, and traveling. In short, gastronomy, sports, and travel are my main passions.
